When I hear The Fray’s song How to Save a Life I always think of Grey’s Anatomy. I remember originally wanting to watch the show because of my mother. She loved Patrick Dempsey and because of her I still do. I knew from the moment I started watching the show I was in for the long haul. There have of course been numerous deaths over the years that have made me want to quit. I have wanted to quit this show SO many times I’ve lost count, but one thing reminded certain. I loved these characters. I loved the new characters brought in. I loved this show.
When my mom passed away there was a part of me that did not want to continue watching it. And one day my dad just came into the room, put on the first of like eight episodes I had recorded and started watching them with me. My dad was hooked once more on the show, but it had been awhile so he had questions. When I tell you it was awhile since he watched, he was asking about Callie being married to George and asking what Izzie had been up to. Yeah, it was shocking for him to say the least.
Of course, spoilers ahead, three years after the fact two of my all time favorite characters were killed of in Lexie Grey and Mark Sloan. But when Derek Shepherd was killed off I did not think I would stop crying. These are the only episodes I have not watched with him since. I watched them alone, bawled my eyes out and told him they were still on the DVR. I knew my mom would understand my fictional character mourning as she mourned many fictional character in her day. We both mourned Denny Duquette together and that one is still a scene I cannot make myself view again. I just cannot do it.
From time to time I wonder what it would be like to go back and watch the earlier episodes. Episodes with characters I have loved and loss over the years and this made me wonder what my top ten Grey’s Anatomy moments still play in my head like they just aired yesterday. So without further adieu, and some tears, enjoy.

I hope you enjoyed this trip down memory lane like I did. I also hope that you choose to share what your favorite Grey’s Anatomy moments have been throughout the years too. I know a ton more could be listed, but that just means there’s room for another list at another time.
This list ❤️ I think you hit on most of my favorite moments.

I’m so glad to hear that! There were so many I debated on to be honest, but these are the ones that have always stuck out to me. And Callie’s really hits home for me right now ’cause sometimes you really do have to have a bit of a reboot on yourself. ❤
