For some time now, I have had the desire to start a podcast. At first, I was unsure what I wanted to cover. This past year has made me realize a lot of things about myself as well as the world. I cannot help but think there are so many societal pressures on women to have it all. On top of that, so many people write hate to other women online who seemingly do have it all. The crazy part to me is women hating on other women! Some days it feels like there is no way to win as a woman. The more I thought about that, the more I knew I wanted to make something to motivate, inspire, educate, and empower women. I knew I wanted to make something that let women know that they are more than their vaginas!
The day has finally come where I can say that Damn My Vagina is LIVE! I cannot believe it. I have had been dealing with so much that it is almost to see it live today. It is honestly surreal. I plan on discovering how to make the podcast available on other platforms, but right now, it’s currently available on three platforms! One of them being Spotify! Another is Pocket Casts, and the last I will mention is Anchor. Anchor is the reason I started down this path in the first place. It’s a great site and very easy to use, plus it’s free! It’s free, and it automatically set up the two other platforms you can find my podcast. I cannot speak highly enough about it.
In addition to launching the podcast, I have also launched the official website for Damn My Vagina. I want to do a lot of work on the website, including figuring out merchandising for the show. One of the things I want to focus on in the future is what I call Wednesday Spotlights for women. This idea will focus on female entrepreneurs, musicians, authors, actors, etc. I want to be able to spotlight them by using my hashtag mixed with the WCW hashtag. A hashtag that will always make me think of the old wrestling organization, but I have to say that making it focus on women is fantastic. And it doesn’t have to focus on merely looks, but the achievements of women as well. I think it should focus on that more so than anything else.
I will eventually have transcripts and embed the links to the podcasts on my website as well! It’s all a work in progress, much like myself, and thank you to everyone who listens to it today or in the future. If you can support my venture, there is a way to do so through Anchor. By supporting this podcast, you allow me to keep creating it and live one of my many dreams. While there are three options to support the podcast by clicking support, I believe I have it set up that you can help with any amount. It starts at $.99 a month. For now, I’m going to tweak the parts of the transcription for episode one. Plus, you should be listening to the podcast now anyway. If not, then what are you waiting for? I’m not even going to make you scroll back up. Go listen now. Seriously.
