Damn My Vagina

For some time now, I have had the desire to start a podcast. At first, I was unsure what I wanted to cover. This past year has made me realize a lot of things about myself as well as the world. I cannot help but think there are so many societal pressures on women to have it all. On top of that, so many people write hate to other women online who seemingly do have it all. The crazy part to me is women hating on other women! Some days it feels like there is no way to win as a woman. The more I thought about that, the more I knew I wanted to make something to motivate, inspire, educate, and empower women. I knew I wanted to make something that let women know that they are more than their vaginas!

Sacred Viewings

Growing up with my mom I became exposed me to a variety of shows. Soap operas were a given in my household. I started watched ABC soaps when I was in elementary school as I did my homework in the afternoon. This left me primarily watching General Hospital unless my mother had recorded All My Children and One Life to Live. Over the years, this made me a fan of One Life to Live and General Hospital. Some of the other shows she was big on were Little House on the Prairie, Gunsmoke, and Bonanza. My mom and I also started watching Grey’s Anatomy together when I was in college because of Patrick Dempsey. However, out of all the ones I’ve listed, there’s only one I cannot watch anymore without her.

‘Good Girls’ Recap: ‘Synergy’

Last week on Good Girls, viewers learned all about opportunities with Mr. Fitzpatrick. This week all realized that the girls’ world is turning upside down almost instantaneously. After the way last week’s episode ended, I had a feeling this cold opening was going to introduce Agent Donnegan to Ruby this week. As Ruby sets up her table to get ready for another day at the nail salon, Agent Donnegan walks in and needs a manicure, of course. She uses a ten-dollar bill to get change with, and Ruby reveals a bit too much about how you check to see if the currency is fake. If they were not onto her before, they are definitely onto her now.

‘Good Girls’ Recap: ‘Opportunity’

Last week on Good Girls, viewers were left wondering via the upcoming scenes if this is the week that Rio dies. Will Mr. Fitzpatrick (Andrew McCarthy) follow through on his promise to the girls? After all, this week’s cold open shows our girls at the park as Beth’s kids play at the park. I love how they have the girls fighting over who killed who as they sit there and patiently wait for the hitman to execute Rio. My favorite part is when Annie declares that the hit on Rio is complete because a dog stared at them.

‘Good Girls’ Recap: ‘Incentive’

Last week on Good Girls, viewers were left stunned knowing that someone else is on track to hunt down our girls, Agent Phoebe Donnegan (Lauren Lapkus). While making a horrible comparison to discovering that women are involved in this counterfeiting ring, she proves throughout the episode that she might be even more determined to take them down than Agent Turner. After all, she needs to make a name for herself, and this case would allow her to do so.

‘Good Girls’ Recap: ‘Nana’

Last week on Good Girls, viewers saw what it is like to have an entirely move-in ready house made from a family home where residents currently lived. Despite ending the episode last wake with this shocking twist, the show chooses to focus on a character we have not seen since last season. A character I have wondered about for a moment or two myself, despite thinking that they would merely mention him in passing. While I cannot say I was Boomer’s biggest fan on the show, I have wondered what he has been up to this season.

‘Good Girls’ Recap: ‘Vegas, Baby’

Last week, viewers discovered how quickly the tides have turned. What seemed like a simple solution has the potential to put more eyes on the girls now more than ever. As the show opens this week, Beth reveals the money she took was so the ladies could pay their bills. Ruby points out that it isn’t wise to steal from a man who recently ordered a woman’s demise.
