‘Good Girls’ Recap: ‘Nana’

Last week on Good Girls, viewers saw what it is like to have an entirely move-in ready house made from a family home where residents currently lived. Despite ending the episode last wake with this shocking twist, the show chooses to focus on a character we have not seen since last season. A character I have wondered about for a moment or two myself, despite thinking that they would merely mention him in passing. While I cannot say I was Boomer’s biggest fan on the show, I have wondered what he has been up to this season.

Since I was nine years old, I have loved the horror genre. My love for horror came after “dating” someone who also loved the horror genre when I did not. I can remember him telling me to leave so he could watch Jason Goes to Hell. At a young age, I also remember being furious and annoyed by this. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre film review

During the first viewing of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974), I was scared to death. Granted, one of my cousins convinced the film’s events were all true. Yes, there are elements of truth within the film, but the film is not a true story. However, if someone believes such when viewing the film, especially late at night, this tends to freak them out. The original feature is one I watched entirely too young for that reason. I did not need to think there were people in the world that sick.

It’s A Beautiful Day To Stay Inside

Middle school was rough for everyone. There is one particular moment that keeps replaying in my head this week. At my middle school, in PE, the coaches required us to run two laps before we moved onto the activity for the day. If someone did not complete those laps, we had to run one more. Having finished my laps, which need mind you, were not easy to do in three minutes for someone overweight; I hated hearing we had to go one more time on a typical day.

Last week we learned that Rio wanted Beth dead, but he needs her alive. This week’s episode starts with Beth giving various announcements to men who are working for Rio. As the guy who has been watching her comes into exam the printing press, he begins to ask a lot of questions. Beth knows this is because eventually, if Rio figures out the printing press and what ingredients go into making the money that they won’t need her.

‘Bloodshot’ Film Review: A Mediocre Plot Redeemed by Vin Diesel’s Heart

Sometimes I walk into the theater with the thought process; this is going to be a great action film. I don’t expect much from a lot of action films at times. Maybe this is because sometimes they can be a bit derivative, and they contain the same actors over and over again. In a way, they do not feel like they have anything new to offer us. The plots differ, but not as much as we would like them too from time to time. In this case, upon seeing the previews for Bloodshot for months, I remained intrigued all the same by Vin Diesel’s latest venture into the genre. The difference is while the plot is predictable at times, Bloodshot provides audiences with the one thing they might not be expecting. Heart.

‘The Hunt’ Film Review: A Riveting Extreme Retelling of Richard Connell’s The Most Dangerous Game

Attention: There are slight spoilers ahead in this review.

The moment studios delayed the premiere of The Hunt; I thought it was a wrong decision. As soon as I saw the premise of the film, I immediately thought of Richard Connell’s “The Most Dangerous Game.” This movie is a story we’ve seen adapted for years. The Hunger Games is even a loose example of the story, but on a grander scale and with children. Regardless though, there is nothing new in the world of horror about a person hunting another person. That is half of the genre. Despite the film’s politically charged nature, in this instance, politics only add to the intensity of this particular adaptation of Connel’s famous short story.
